JUSTICE, PEACE, AND INTEGRITY OF CREATION COMMISSION ON EARTH DAY 2020
Today we commemorate the 50th Earth Day, with climate action as the chosen theme, as the most pressing topic for the 50th anniversary of this Day. The enormous challenge and vast opportunities of this issue is now underscored, highlighted, merged-and-centered as we continue to suffer our latest – not the first, and apparently not the last – pandemic: COVID 19.

We, the permanent Commission of the Association of Major Religious Superiors in the Philippines (AMRSP) on Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation (JPICC) strongly denounce the malicious and baseless accusation made against the Redemptorists’ Laoag Mission Community of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, on 22 July 2021 in Laoag as communist supporters, after a tarpaulin was posted outside their compound.

The whole creation is groaning, the environment and even ourselves...
. . . because the Philippine environment is in a critical state --- as of 1988 only 23% of our forest cover remains, only 5% of our coral reefs are in excellent condition, which is the lowest in Southeast Asia, the ratio of our alienable and disposable land (A&D) and the timber land is way below the standard, our atmosphere is one of the most polluted , our rivers and seas are silted and suffering from both domestic and industrial waste and our water resource are in critical condition in many parts of the archipelago.
